Accordingly, it is expected that from the second quarter of 2024, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) will provide LNG to industrial customers.
PV GAS has demonstrated its position, strength, and reliable capabilities on the green energy journey of the first and only qualified trader for LNG import and export in Vietnam, certified by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
1 MMTPA Thi Vai LNG Terminal is the only terminal in the country that has been put into operation and ready to supply regas LNG in Southeast Vietnam. The entire infrastructure was constructed with high quality, with cutting-edge technology. The terminal has met all domestic and international standards and safety operational requirements. Through in-depth Due Diligences, it was highly praised for its detailed design, feasibility, and tight integration of operational activities.
PV GAS has also been urgently implementing Phase 2 of Thi Vai LNG Terminal with an increase to 3 MMTPA by 2026. Simultaneously, the Corporation has been launching Son My LNG Terminal project in Binh Thuan, with a capacity reaching up to 6 MMTPA (phase 2), serving Son My power plants and the South Central region. In the Northern and Central regions of Vietnam, PV GAS has been actively conducting location searches to invest in two LNG hubs, each with a capacity of 3 MMTPA. Thus, the planned capacity in the deployment of PV GAS’ four LNG hubs are expected to hit a total of 15 MMTPA.

PV GAS has collaborated and signed multiple contracts with LNG majors around the world, ranging from producers to portfolio players/ trading houses. Collaborating with reputable LNG suppliers in different global regions will help enhance PV GAS’ flexibility in selecting optimal supply sources with favorable commercial terms.
